Meet Our Doctors

Timothy J . Beatty, O.D.

As an optometrist, Dr. Timothy Beatty provides an extensive range of eye care services to his patients. Dr. Beatty performs complete eye examinations, which include specialties in glasses, contact lenses, eye diseases, and family optometry.

Education and Training

Dr. Beatty graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Optometry. Dr. Beatty also earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Indiana University School of Optometry in Bloomington. Dr. Beatty graduated with high honors and received the Wesley Jessen Contact Lens Achievement Award. Dr. Beatty completed externships at the Atwater and Community Eye Care Centers, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Indianapolis Eye Care Center and Muncie Eye Center.

Dr. Beatty joined the Whitewater Eye Centers to provide specialized care to the Connersville community. Dr. Beatty is a member of the Indiana Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.

K. Phillip Greene, O.D.

Dr. Phillip Greene is an expert in providing treatment, medical aids, and training to individuals with low vision conditions. Dr. Greene leads the low vision clinic at the Eye Center of Connersville, performing in-depth eye exams, diagnosis, and treatment of low vision conditions, including specialized fittings for low vision aids and the knowledge of how to use them most effectively.

Dr. Phillip Greene's Experience

Dr. Phillip Greene has provided vision care for patients in Fayette and surrounding counties for the past 40 years.

At the end of December, 2005, Dr. Greene retired from general practice to pursue a goal for which there is a great need: treating patients with low vision problems. To further this goal, the Eye Center of Connersville has established a center for Low Vision Services to serve patients with low vision. Patients may also be seen at the Eye Center of Richmond.

Definition of Low Vision

Low Vision is defined as visual impairment that is not correctable through surgery, pharmaceuticals, ordinary glasses, or contact lenses.

Common causes of Low Vision


  • Macular Degeneration
  • Diabetes
  • Strokes and trauma
  • Retinitis Pigmentosa

Examples of Low Vision Aids


  • Magnifiers
