Rodney S. Bucher, M.D.

Dr. Bucher is one of the most experienced and respected retinal specialists in the State of Indiana.  His largely referral-based practice, Associated Vitreoretinal and Uveitis Consultants, is a highly respected facility focused on medical and surgical diseases of the retina and vitreous working closely with referring doctors in the greater Indianapolis area.

Education and Training

Dr. Bucher received a B.S. in Accounting from Purdue University before achieving his M.D. from Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, Indiana.  He completed his post-graduate training with an Internship at Ball Memorial Hospital, Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center, and Fellowship at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center.

Dr. Bucher is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retina Specialists, Indiana State Medical Association, Indianapolis Medical Society, Indiana Academy of Ophthalmology, American Board of Ophthalmology, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Ramana S. Moorthy, M.D.

Dr. Moorthy is one of the most experienced and respected retinal specialists in the State of Indiana.  His largely referral-based practice, Associated Vitreoretinal and Uveitis Consultants, is a highly respected facility focused on medical and surgical diseases of the retina and vitreous working closely with referring doctors in the greater Indianapolis area.

Education and Training

Dr. Moorthy is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, currently serving as President and CEO of Associated Vitreoretinal and Uveitis Consultants.  In addition to his practice duties, Dr. Moorthy has been a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Indiana Unviersity School of Medicine since 1995.  He is also actively involved in research and education, with over 75 papers, presentations, lectures, book chapters and other publications to his name.
As an experienced and respected surgeon, Dr. Moorthy holds hospital appointments at Indiana Unversity Medical Center/VAMC/Wishard Hospital.  After graduating Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Dr. Moorthy achieved an M.D. with Highest Distinction from the Indiana University of Medicine.  He completed an Internship in General Surgery and Residency in Ophthalmology at the Indiana School of Medicine, where he was the chief teaching resident for a year.  He also completed Fellowships at Northwestern University (retina) and the Doheny Eye Institute (uveitis).

Elise L. Beatty, O.D.

update 5/22/13As an optometrist, Dr. Elise Beatty provides an extensive range of eye care services to her patients. Dr. Beatty performs complete eye examinations, which include specialties in: eye diseases, glasses, contact lenses, and family optometry.

Education and Training

Dr. Beatty graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Optometry. Dr. Beatty also earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Indiana University School of Optometry in Bloomington, and belongs to the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society.

Dr. Beatty completed externships at Atwater and Community Eye Care Centers, Dayton Veterans Association Medical Center, Richmond Eye Center, and Eye Surgeons of Indiana. Dr. Beatty also completed a one year post-graduate residency in ocular disease with The Eye Center Group. Her areas of specialty include ocular diseases, glasses and contact lenses, and pre and post- operative surgical care.

Dr. Beatty is a member of the Indiana Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.

Timothy J. Beatty, O.D.

As an optometrist, Dr. Timothy Beatty provides an extensive range of eye care services to his patients. Dr. Beatty performs complete eye examinations, which include specialties in glasses, contact lenses, eye diseases, and family optometry.

Education and Training

Dr. Beatty graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Optometry. Dr. Beatty also earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Indiana University School of Optometry in Bloomington. Dr. Beatty graduated with high honors and received the Wesley Jessen Contact Lens Achievement Award. Dr. Beatty completed externships at the Atwater and Community Eye Care Centers, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Indianapolis Eye Care Center and Muncie Eye Center.

Dr. Beatty joined the Whitewater Eye Centers to provide specialized care to the Connersville community. Dr. Beatty is a member of the Indiana Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
